Imbolc

Facilitated by: Baya Salmon – Hawk
Room: Heart Room
Date: Sunday 2nd February 3 – 4PM
Cost: €10

The Celtic Festival of Imbolc is the official beginning of spring. Early days, we know and yet, the season is turning. There are buds on the trees, the snow drops are peeping from the grass and there might even be some crocuses too.

Imbolc is the festival of the first milk, the festival of the “Quickening”. The “Quickening” happens when a pregnant lady feels the first fluttering of the life within her, filling her with hope and making the baby more real.

Ponder and decide what is “Quickening” inside of us. What are our first hopes for this Spring 2020? Have we given up on the “New Year resolutions” and why did that happen?

Once we have come upon an idea/plan/dream/project, we will chose a piece of fabric to symbolise it and give it a blessing. We will then go into the garden (weather permitting) and we will tie the cloth to a tree. As the cloth fades and is shredded by the weather so our wish will strengthen and come to pass.

Your amazing facilitator Baya will also tell stories about St. Brigit of Kildare and her amazing adventures.

Come along and join Baya for this event where you are going to create an altar to the Celtic Goddess Brigit/Brigid/Brigantia.

Baya Salmon-Hawk is a local transformational storyteller and a Shamanic Healer in the Celtic Tradition. She trained with internationally renewed shamanic healer and writer Caítlin Matthews.
