Whether you are recently retired, or well used to this stage of your life, there is something here for everyone.
Various short workshops (posture and balance, movement for bones and joints, foot and hip strength and mobility, stretch and relax for a good night’s sleep, how to build healthy movement habits into your day) and plenty of time for rest and play, including a movie night!
Eat well, sleep in a very comfortable bed, spend time alone or with others in the beautiful garden. Enjoy delicious chef-crafted food, with ingredients chosen for their seasonal and environmental appropriateness. Maybe even treat yourself to a treatment to support your health and wellbeing.

The retreat includes: all classes with Jaconel, 2 nights en-suite deluxe accommodation with a set of organic toiletries, 6 delicious Soulful Food gourmet meals (2 x breakfast, 2 x lunch, 2 x dinner), use of the gym, shop, café, art room and gardens.

Lunches and evening meals – these are a set-menu selected from the Soulful Food menu. Desserts can be ordered from a separate menu at extra cost. There is a wine list available for purchase with evening meals.
Standard coffee and tea are included with all meals. A wide range of special teas and coffees are available for purchase.

Special diets: Please notify us when booking if you have any specific dietary requirements such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, dairy free etc.
Healthy snacks, smoothies, hot drinks, drinks from the bar and treats are available to purchase outside meal times.

15:00 Arrive at Creacon any time and check in.
16:30 Welcome. Introductions, welcome juice, Creacon orientation
18:00 Delicious dinner, 2 courses from the Soulful Food set residents menu
19:30 Mindful Pilates-based movement. Stretch and relax for a good night’s sleep.
Have a chat and a hot drink in the café or spend time in the lounge before a restful sleep.

Thursday
08:30 Wake up stretch and chair yoga based joint freeing movement
09:30 Nutritious breakfast
11:00 Free time or Gentlest yoga with Sharon (paid separately)
12:30 Movement for healthy feet and hips. Posture and balance.
13:40 Light lunch from the Soulful Food menu
15:00 Pilates based movement for joints and bones
18:30 Delicious dinner, 2 courses from the Soulful Food set residents menu
20:00 Movie night! An uplifting movie. The bar will be open too.
Spend time to chat and have a hot drink in the bar or the lounge, and enjoy a good night’s sleep.

10:30 Free time Tai Chi and Qigong with Jim (paid separately)

In between sessions there will be time to rest and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Creacon Wellness resort, the gardens, café, lounge or art room. There is also a wide range of holistic treatments available, subject to availability.

About Your Facilitator

Jaconel Janssen is passionate about movement. She has been practicing Pilates since 2000, qualified as a Pilates teacher in London in 2005 and came to Cork with her family in 2007 where she set up Pilates People Cork.

In 2015 she qualified as a Buff Bones® instructor, a medically-endorsed movement system for bone and joint health, and became an advanced Buff Bones® instructor in 2023. She has a special interest in working with clients in ‘the second half of our lives’.

‘Whether in a group setting or one-to-one, it is so rewarding to see how smart, mindful movement can improve dramatically how we feel, our strength, mobility and balance. And to feel more confident and get a very real sense of well-being through movement and breathing’.

Apart from Pilates, Jaconel likes practising yoga, tai chi, meditation, and loves cooking, singing, walking and travelling.

Her movement sessions can be adapted to each and every one of us in different stages of our life. Whether fit, flexible and injury-free, or suffering from back aches or other special considerations, we can all benefit from having a regular movement practice.

Keen to stay an extra night? Tuesday night 21 May can be booked at a special rate for our group of €95pp sharing or €130 single occupancy, dinner and B&B. Fee payable upon your check-out at Creacon.

Cancelation Policy:

  • The deposit of €95 is non-refundable, unless the event is cancelled by the event organiser or venue.
  • Any cancellations made 28 days or more prior to the event (before 22 April 2024) will receive a full refund, MINUS €95 deposit which will not be refunded.
  • Any cancellation made less than 28 days prior to the event (ON or AFTER 22 April 2024) will be charged at 100% of the retreat fee.
  • If you cannot attend and you have someone else who would like to attend the retreat in your place, I will try where possible to transfer your place to them.
  • NB If the event is cancelled by myself or by the venue, your will receive a FULL refund
    including your deposit.
